After spending “four years in a dark hole,” the star of 1983’s *Yentl* expressed optimism about President Joe Biden, telling People, “The country is certainly headed in the right direction.”
She praised Biden’s compassion, honesty, integrity, and commitment to facts over fiction. In a Variety essay, she criticized Trump’s impact, saying he has diminished America’s global standing with his boasts and ignorance.
Now, Streisand is worried about the upcoming elections with Trump as a leading Republican candidate. On *The Late Show*, she told Stephen Colbert that she couldn’t stay in the U.S. if Trump were re-elected, noting she might move to England because she likes it there.
She also criticized Trump’s refusal to take responsibility for his actions and his evasion of accountability despite impeachment. Streisand called for a renewed America free from pollution, obscenities, insults, and revenge, emphasizing the need to restore the nobility of truth to make America great again.
If she considers relocating to Canada, she may need to act fast, as there are calls for a wall along the Canadian border by some Republicans.
